Last couple days

ahhhhhhh...I feel like I can breath, and I actually feel like writing a blog today. I'm so happy i'm almost done with this semester, and I can be relieved with a little bit of stress in the summer. (I need to get a job though.)
I've been taking it easy with my last couple of proects left, and getting them done! I have finals Monday, Wednesday, and Friday next week, so Tuesday and Thursday I'll be studying at home.
Now that I'm done with BSU, I'm getting ready excited for Purdue. I actually think I will be a better student there. I'm a person who can kinda be influenced by others. Next year I will be living with 2 studious people and when I'm around studious people, I become more studious. Plus, I won't have the distraction of my dogs and family. I think they put more stress on me than school!
I'm really not as worried about moving away like I was before, and really, I won't miss alot. I'll miss my best friends, Daphne and Rocky, but I'm gonna be coming home once in awhile to see them. And they said they would visit me so it's comforting.
I'm not looking forward another college orientation! I need to remind myself never to transfer again!
I think I'm going to keep blogging, I want to continue this one, maybe redo it, and I'm going to start one called Brigsy Blog. I'm taking my dog, Brigsy with me to Purdue and I want to write about his experience of going to college. :)

My Blog & the Blogosphere

My Blog is called The Craziness in Nikkilynn’s Head. And that is exactly the theme to my blog. With this blog I wrote whatever popped in my head that day. Mostly the things I wrote about were things that were important to me, like my truck Pete and my dogs. I really enjoy writing my blog, because it allows me to write in the voice I like to write in. The voice I write in is just how I talk every day. Because of this I found it easy to write my blogs and fun.
I think my best post was the one about my dog show in Indianapolis. It’s one of my longer ones, and I really put thought into it and had a story to tell. It also has humor in it, because I didn’t win with my own dog and I was very frustrated with that. I think that blog shows that I have a good attitude when it comes to losing, because I make fun of myself. People always say I lose as gracefully as I win. I like to make fun of myself and I think this blog really shows it.
Before I entered the world of blogging, I honestly thought it was for bored people that wanted other people to know their problems and such. I honestly didn’t care about other people’s blogs. Now, after blogging for a semester, I have changed my mind. It felt good to write about my thoughts and to have people read them. I understand now why people blog and I think there are different reasons.
I think people blog for several reasons. Some people blog for information. They may be very knowledgeable on a subject and want to share with others. And I think some people could use their information, if it’s creditable and has citations in it, in reports and such. Informational blogs may be easier to read than some other sites, because it’s written by every day people.
I know what it feels like to have thoughts all built up inside you and you just want to break loose. I think blogging is great way to express yourself and your thoughts. A great quote from one of my favorite movies, Sydney White. In the movie there, one of the guys Sydney lives with is Gurkin. Gurkin is constantly on his computer blogging. He actually created his own blogging site called peoplespuninsher.com. One of the other guys in the house says something like, why do you even write, nobody reads those stupid blogs. Gurkin’s response is “Peoplespunisher.com isn’t about being read, it’s being writ.” I think that quote sums up the reason why some people blog. I know I would never blog about something serious. And I really don’t care if people read what I write, it’s just nice to know that there is something about you up there for people to read if you want. It’s a great way to vent and to express yourself.

My multi purpose truck

I've already written about Pete, and how much I love him. He is a very multi purpose truck. Of course I use him to drive from place to place. But not only that. He is a dressing room and a dresser. I have at least four shirts and a pair of pants in there. and countless numbers of shoes. He's a dining room and there are wrappers from Taco Bell in there. I once used him as a bedroom, no, not in that way, but I did sleep in there once. He has yet to be used as a bathroom thank god.
I realized this when I clean him out today, I had no idea some much stuff could fit in one truck!!!

my friend from sweden

Today I went to lunch with my friend from Sweden. I haven't seen her for like 2 years. I met her in my photography class my junior year of high school. We both ran track and we ran the 2 mile together.
We went to king's buffet, because she loves chinese food. We tried to convince her that we weren't going to go there, and she got real upset at first.
it was nice to see my friend, and I'm thinking she should pay for me to come visit her :).

i got hit with reality

So, I was really excited a couple weeks ago. I have been accepted to Purdue. I am so excited, this is like a dream. I want to go to Purdue sooooooooooooo bad, and now I have a the opportunity. And I will be living with one of my best friends from high school in her house. Which is so cool, and I get to take one of my dogs.

Well, the other day, I was looking over the leash of my house, and I realized that I move into the house July 1st! Like 3 months from now! All I can say is holy crap! I'm going to be moving away, 3 hours away from my family and friends and living by myself (well, not the exactly by myself, I'll have Chelsea). But I've never lived without a parent, and how am I going to make enough money to fend for myself?

I called Chelsea, and she made me feel a little better, but I still had a shock of reality, and I'm still nervous.

My speeding ticket

So, I went to Purdue a couple weekends ago (which I'm now accepted...woot woot) and on my way home I got a speeding ticket.
It was a quiet Sunday afternoon and I was on highway 26. Now the speed limit was 55, but I was going 70, and I was well aware of this because that was what my cruise was set to. I was driving down the highway in Gas City and there were no cars at all. And I told my friend, I really hope we don't pass a cop, and at that time she points and goes cop. He was going the opposite direction and did a u-turn in the middle of the highway and turned on his lights and pulled me over.

so, if you are on a highway that's posted 55....don't go 70 or it will cost you $130.50

Movie Review

Photobucket
In the Pink Panther 2, the Pink Panther Diamond is stolen by the infamous criminal mastermind the Tornado, along with some other famous treasures from around the world. Because of these crimes the world puts together an international dream team, where Inspector Jacques Clouseau, played by Steve Martin, is appointed to lead.
I am not the biggest fan of sequels. Usually, in my eyes, the sequels never are as good as the first movie. Because of this I am apprehensive about going to the movies to see a sequel (unless it’s Pirates of the Caribbean, and in that case I dressed up like a pirate to go see). And when my family wanted to go see the Pink Panther 2, I went along, hoping it was as good as the first one, which I loved.
I believe the second is as good as the first movie; I probably had as many laughs during it as I did in the first. It had new characters and new scenes and jokes that cause it to be very entertaining. Like the first movie, Clouseau tries to solve the crime, and the viewer thinks there is no way that this idiot could solve anything. He is clumsy, and clueless of the world around him, but in the end he has it all figured out, amazing the audience.
This is probably one of my favorite sequels, I would go see another Pink Panther movie if the actors stay the same and the comedy stays the same. I would recommend it to anyone, even if they haven’t seen the first. The new story line lets the viewers who haven’t seen the first understand everything that’s going on. The humor in the movie is suitable for all ages, so it can be a good family film. I would give this movie a B.

PURDUE!!!

My best friend goes to Purdue, and me and my other best friend are going there this weekend to see her. Last time I went I had a blast, so I'm super excited!!! That's problaly why this blog is so short and not as creative. I'll have a creative story from this weekend on my next blog, but for now, enjoy some pictures from my last purde trip. :)

UGH....Can't win with my own damn dog!!!

This weekend I attended the Hoosier Winter Classic. It's a dog show in Indianapolis. I only took one dog, really I only had one dog to show at this one. His name is Brigsy, or Glynchelyn's Brigsy Da Gangsta. I love him so much, he's the perfect whippet in my eyes, except for one thing. He has a terrible show attitude, he's timid. So I lost this weekend do to timidness, well, didn't completly lose, just didn't win what I wanted to. But it was our first show this year, and I wasn't expecting anything better with him.

On Sunday, my friend Alice ended up winning and had 2 dogs in the best of breed competition. She always travels by herself and I help her out because she'll show four or five dogs at a show and sometimes she'll need someone else to show them. So on Sunday she won winner's dog and winner's bitch, and they had to go into the best of breed ring. She gave me the bitch, Brooke, I've shown her before and the last time I did, she made me look like an ass and was crazy, but we had fun. So in the best of breed ring, the judge kept looking at me and Brooke, and when we went around the ring, he pointed at me for best of breed. So I can win something huge with someone else's dog, but can't do shit with my own. Oh well, it happens sometimes.

So I'm a Squidward

Alright, I have to admit my addiction. I love Spongebob. My best friend and I will quote Spongebob on a daily basis. So if they're any other Spongebob fans out there, remember the episode with that's the Krusty Krabs training video? No worries if you haven't, I'll fill you in. Basically it's teaching you to be an awrsome employee like Spongebob, and not being a terrible one like Squidward. Well, I watched that episode today and it got me thinking, I'm a Squidward at my job.

I work at the BSU Atrium, in Chic-fil-a. (Yep, so come visit me after 4!) The Atrium is actually a really cool place to work, because they really don't care what the students do. As long as you do some kind of job, you're good.
We can take days off as much as we want, and if you don't call in, they don't freak til like the third time. So, I push it, I've taken days off to go to the movies, and days when I don't feel like working. And sometimes, I take a long time, just to waste time.

So, I'm a terrible employee, I'm a squidward, but the Atrium is actually a really fun place to work, and I actually do enjoy it.

my poor cell phone(s)

Everybody has the story bout a dumb thing they've dumb to their cellphone. Well, I have cell phone stories, not just one, but several.
I never have been good with electronics, when I was little I have gone through 2 gameboy colors and tons of portable cd players. I remember one time I actually had to put one of my cd players in the fridge because it kept overheating.
I am a cell phones worse nightmare. My first cell phone was a little pre paid phone, not expensive, but hey, I was in middle school. One day I was out on the by my house withMy my dog, and i dropped my phone, and the battery poped out and feel in the lake. That's the end of cell phone #1.
My 2nd cell phone was a plain LG camera phone, the green and silver kind. I had that phone for awhile, until my sister and I got in a fight and I ripped it out of the charger, and pulled the guts out of it. End of cell phone #2.
My 3rd cell phone was the newer version of my old LG. I actually had that phone almost (key word ALMOST) to the end of it's contract. This phone was destroyed by my butt. I sat on the bleachers at my school, and my phone was in my back pocket and I cracked my screen. End of phone#3
My 4th cell phone was the first EnV. This EnV could handle me, I left it on the roof of my truck, and took off and it fell off into the road. I dropped it in my yard and one of my dogs picked it up and ran away with it. Then, I dropped it in a toliet, and that was the end of my EnV.
Now I am on my 5th cell phone, and it's a Voyager, and so far this thing is pretty sturdy, but I've been careful with this one.

Oh Pete!

So, there's this boy, I'm absolutely crazy about him. He's always there for me, takes me places, doesn't get jealous, and I'm a girl who's got pride issues, and I'm proud of him. Okay, well, he's a not a boy, he's my truck, Pete.
My best friend named him Pete, I don't know what made her think of it, but the name stuck. Me and Pete have gone through alot togetherm from wrecks to taco bell nights to dog shows.
Pete is very distinctive, he's a red chevy colorado with white racing stripes. He's also got some dual tail pipes that make him really loud, and one's busted because we decided to ramp some railroad tracks, whoops. And now it rattles really loud, oh well though, I love 'em.

Being Content

Yesterday morning in church the preacher talked to us about money. Of course with the economy right now in ruin and being a college student and daughter of a business owner, money is a very high on the list of topics we talk about in my hosehold and also I think about. But the preacher madde me think that, even if I had all the money in the world, would I be content? NO! Stuff, is stuff, when we die, we don't take stuff with us. Like one of my favorite songs by George Strait, it's says they don't make herst with luggage racks.
So, how does a person become content, without tons of money? I asked myself this, do I have food?
Yep.
Clothes?
Yep.
Someplace to live?
Yep.
A means of getting to where I need to go?
Yep.
So why have I been bitchin? Cause something I ate didn't taste good, when there are people somewhere else in this world who would love to eat what I just threw out? Or my truck's tailpipe rattles and makes this god awful sound when I drive, when there are people who have to walk everywhere in all sorts of weather.
Reflecting on all I have, why am I not content with what I have? When it should be that I'm not content with what I'm doing? That I'm not doing enough to care for my dogs, to help around the house, or to even take care of myself.
No more worrying about my stuff for me now, now it's time for me to worry about what I do with my time, and actions.

What is a Whippet?

When people ask me my hobbies, I always say that I show dogs. The next question is always the same: What kind of dogs? I then reply by saying that I show whippets. And then eighty percent of the time I get this question: What's a whippet? Regretfully I always respond by saying, they are a small greyhound, but in reality, they aren't completly like a greyhound at all.
A whippet is a small sighthound. Sighthounds are dogs that hunt by sight, and chase their game down. Because of this, sighthounds are among the fastest dogs in the world. The size of the sighthound depends on what they hunted, for example the Scottish Deerhound is a 85 to 110 pound dog, that hunts deer, where a Whippet that ranges from 18 up to 30 pounds hunts rabbits.
Like there are differences between sighthounds, like the deerhound and the saluki, there are differences between the greyhound and the whippet. They do look more alike than the other sighthounds, but the gryhound is much larger, and has a flatter topline. Also, whippets have longer necks for their size and a whippet's color in immaterial, where there are standards for the greyhound.
This is only a small amount of imformation on what a whippet is, but you can see why I don't go into complete detail when someone asks me, what they are.
